The Club of Quotables conference organised by the Budapest Stock Exchange drew
a large audience to the Hotel Intercontinental on Friday, 24 September. A number
of companies preparing to be listed on the exchange took part in the event in
order to collect the necessary information for their entry onto the exchange.
The event was opened by Dr. György Mohai, CEO of the Budapest Stock Exchange
(BSE), who also served as the host for the event.
The first presenter, Bálint Szécsényi, CEO of Equilor Investments, highlighted
the importance of the domestic capital market and investor base for domestic security
public offerings and analysed the reasons for obtaining a stock exchange listing.
Next, Ákos Kassai, CEO of RFV Nyrt., talked about the opportunities for raising
development capital through the issue of securities, which was followed by a summary
by Zsolt Wermeser, Director of the Financial Supervisory Authority, of the administrative
requirements for stock exchange listings.
After a short break, Levente Zsembery, CEO of BIGGEORGE’S-NV EQUITY Venture Fund
Management Company, provided an overview of corporate financing alternatives.
István Horváth, Chief Investment Officer for K&H Fund Manager, gave a detailed
overview of the criteria to help fund managers decide on investing in businesses
listed on the stock exchange.
The second part of the conference featured a roundtable discussion between Attila
Csáky, Director of UniCredit Bank Hungary, Péter Duronelly, director of investments
at Budapest Alapkezelő Zrt. and István Horváth, Chief Investment Officer for K&H
Fund Manager about fund raising opportunities for the next period. The closing
presentation was delivered by Dr. Ágnes Száz, who talked about the legal aspects
of stock exchange listings.
